First tier: I’m walking in step with You.
The Lord told a friend of mine “I want you to pray for Dr. Vaughan that she hears My cadence.” He told her to look up the word cadence which means rhythm or beat. He said, “When people start to follow Me in My Holy Spirit cadence, eventually there will be a pattern you will see.’
I had been reading Rick Joyner’s book, The Final Quest Trilogy. On p.294 he says, “I noticed a figure walking toward me… I knew immediately that it was the Lord—I could tell by the way He walked, with purpose, but not in a hurry. He is never in a hurry because time submits to Him.”
This reminded me of the cadence the Lord mentioned above.
I also remembered Enoch who walked with God 300 years “and was not, for God took him.” (Gen 5:24) The Trilogy book p.302 says of Enoch, “He began to walk toward us in a way similar to the Lord’s walk—resolute but unhurried.” I guess after walking with Jesus for 300 years, you walk with the same rhythm, the same cadence asHis.
Jesus spoke some astounding things to Rick Joyner about Adam and Enoch on p.302. “Adam walked with Me. He was so full of life that he lived almost a thousand years after sin entered him and the discord of sin entered his soul. Great power is in life, but all life will lose its power if it does not stay close to Me.
“Enoch yearned for what Adam had lost. He walked with Me and I began to teach him like I did Adam. He discovered the source of life, walking with Me. The life became so great in him that he would have still remained on earth if I had not brought him up to dwell with Me here. He was too full of life to die, so I had to take him up.”
When I put all this together in my mind, I very much wanted the life of Jesus to be poured into me by walking closely in cadence with Him and having Him teach me. Acts 10:34 tells us that “God is no respecter of persons”, so I knew if He did it for Adam and Enoch, He would do it for whoever else longed for this closeness The longer they walked together and the more intimate they grew, the more life of Jesus was being absorbed into them. They would be a carrier of Jesus everywhere they went in a greater way day by day. I began to walk in cadence around my house saying, “I’m walking in step with You; I’m walking in step with You. I’m walking with purpose, but not in a hurry. I’m walking in step with You.”
As I was doing this, I remembered that my friend, Ruth Ward Heflin, wrote in her book River Glory about being suddenly caught up in the Spirit and hearing the rhythm of the river of God. She related her experience on p.191. “When I came to myself there was a rhythm that was repeating itself over and over in my spirit. Very slowly I heard myself saying, ‘The eyes of the blind shall see; the ears of the deaf shall hear; and the dead shall be raised to life again.’ ”
This began echoing in me with the same cadence that I was walking in, so I added those words as I walked. “I’m walking in step with you; I’m walking in step with you. I’m walking with purpose, but not in a hurry. I’m walking in step with You. The eyes of the blind shall see; the ears of the deaf shall hear. The dead shall be raised to life again. I’m walking in step with you; I’m walking in step with you.” I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit as I walked and spoke in cadence with the rhythm of the river. (Try it and see for yourself.)
It is obvious that a person would have to walk close to Jesus so that they could hear Him speak and stay in cadence with Him. If the person was a block away, they couldn’t hear Jesus teaching. If they weren’t staying focused on Him, He could make a sudden turn and they could keep on walking straight, getting separated from Him. He is God of the present. His name is not “I Was” or “I Will Be”; His name is “I Am.” Every moment of every day He is still I Am. We must desire to walk with Him in the present at all times.
Warning:
Jesus said something on p. 175 of the Trilogy book which should ring an alarm bell for many Christians. “The coming judgment for those who call upon My name but do not seek Me will be that they will increasingly fall out of timing (cadence) with Me. They will be at the wrong place, doing the wrong things and even preaching the wrong message. They will try to reap when it is time to sow, and sow when it is time to reap. Because of this they will bear no fruit. To really know Me, you must know Me in the present. You can not know Me as I Am unless you come to Me every day. You can not know Me as I Am unless you abide in Me.”
What if a consecrated servant of God like Kathryn Kuhlman came to visit you. Would you spend all the time you had with her reading a book about her. At the end of the time you had with her you would know more about her from the book you were reading, but you would not know her. That is what many people do when they spend all the time they have reading the Bible which tells many things about Jesus, but they never spend time talking to Him and listening to Him i.e. getting to know Him. It is wonderful and edifying to study the word of God. That should not be neglected by any means. But if you want a close personal relationship with Jesus you need to have daily fellowship with him.
Let us determine to seek Him with a sincere heart and continue walking in cadence with Jesus.
2-8-22
As I was meditating about walking with Jesus, phrases continued to be added…I’m walking in peace with You, I’m walking in love with You, I’m walking in health with You; I’m walking in life with You, …The list could go on and on.
Walking in life with You refers to the life that is in Jesus.
“In Him was life and the life was the light of men.” John 1:4
That is not the natural life of flesh that all people have, but rather the life of God that Jesus brought into the world.
In John chapter 6 Jesus says,
v. 48 “I am the bread of life.
v. 51 “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eats of this bread he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
As the cadence continued inside me I saw a vision of others joining the walk with us. More and more joined in step until a huge army of God was marching in rank with the cadence of the Lord. The world has never seen what God is going to do through His holy army in these end times. Join now; the march has begun.
3- 26-22
Second Tier: I’m walking in one with You.
Two shall become one:
As I was walking one day I began saying “I’m walking in one with You; I’m walking in one with You; I’m walking with purpose, but not in a hurry; I’m walking in one with You.” It had been wonderful walking with Jesus, like two people walking together, but walking as one person was shifting to a higher realm in God. You were no longer separate from Him; you were one with Him. Ephesians 5:29-32 tells us about this. “After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church for we are members of his body. For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church.” It is obvious that one person with flesh (husband) and another person with flesh (wife) can not become one person. However in the Spirit, Jesus (by His Spirit, the Holy Spirit) can become one flesh with a physical person in the flesh (you and me). That is the basis of “walking in one with You”.
“He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood shall dwell in Me and I in Him.” John 6:56 Again we find the two (Jesus and you) becoming one flesh (yours) through communion.
Jesus also said, “If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” (John 14:23 KJ) That means that Jesus as well as our loving Father, Abba lives inside of us if we keep His words. We are His home on earth. He has set up His kingdom inside of us. We have become one with Him.
Philippians 3:7-9a NLT “I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him.”
Armed with all this knowledge from scripture, we can march in cadence with the Lord saying, “I’m walking in one with You; I’m walking in one with You; The eyes of the blind now see; the ears of the deaf now hear; the dead are now raised to life again ‘cause I’m walking in one with You.” Amen!
We can also march and say, “The Kingdom of God is here, now. The Kingdom of God is here, IN ME. So the eyes of the blind now see, the ears of the deaf now hear, the dead are now raised to life again, ‘cause I’m walking in one with You. I’m walking in one with You. I’m walking in one with You.” You can add to this as the Spirit leads. It is wonderful to walk in cadence with the Lord and have His life poured into you day by day.
So we have seen that it is possible (and desirable) to become one with Christ. But sometimes there can be a problem. A friend of mine said, “Anything with two heads is a monster.” The Bible says, “The desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.” (Gal.5:17 ESV) So who is on the throne of your life…Jesus or you? Who is in charge…or is it a see-saw relationship where sometimes you wear the crown and do what your flesh likes, and sometimes you let Jesus wear the crown and do what He wants? How do you get off the see-saw and put Jesus in control of your life full-time? One of you must die. Jesus has already done that, so now it is your turn, leaving only Jesus in charge.
5-2-22
Third tier: It’s no longer I that lives.
Love Jesus enough to be willing to let your flesh die and make Him the one and only ruler of your life. He died for us. Now it is our turn to die for Him like Paul says, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Gal. 2:20)
Rick Joyner was told in heaven, “The Lord gave us the map to His Kingdom when He said, ‘If you seek to save your life you will lose it, but if you lose your life for My sake you will find it.” (The Final Quest Trilogy p.83) This is based upon Matt. 10:39. For a long time I have admired Kathryn Kuhlman for her sold-out devotion to the Lord. Once she was on the stage of a large auditorium in Portland, Oregon. A man who had multiple sclerosis making him unable to walk for 10 years got up out of his wheelchair and walked across the stage through the healing power of Jesus. The audience was roaring with joy and astonishment. Miss Kuhlman said that no one knew what Jesus was saying to her at that moment. He said, “You lost your life for My sake and now you have found it in Me.” Her response was, “I found my life, for I lost my will to His will.” She, along with Apostle Paul, had been crucified by laying down their flesh and leaving only one person wearing the crown…Jesus. The see-saw was destroyed and there was clearly only one master of their lives. That is our goal. We have the physical body which He lacks. And He has the life of God which will now flow freely through any person that is crucified.
Now the cadence enters its third tier. “It’s no longer I that lives. You’re living Your life through Me. The eyes of the blind now see for sure; the ears of the deaf now hear for sure; the dead are now raised to life for sure, ‘cause You’re living Your life through me.” Finally, there is a time and a people that Jesus can live His life through without hindrance. Jesus is just the same yesterday, and today, and forever, so He can heal the sick and deliver the demon possessed the same way He always did…with a word and/or a touch…simple, straight forward and always effective…BAM!
You might think, “Aren’t you ‘shooting for the moon’, Dr. Vaughan?” My response is, why not. He has clearly told us, “… the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Col.1:27)
That being the case we should expect the glory of God to be made manifested through our crucified lives as we step out of the way (in our minds and hearts) and let Jesus shine through with the manifestations that bring glory to Him and to Abba. The higher you aim an arrow, the higher it will go. Why not take Jesus at His word and aim to be formed into His image. “…As He is, so are we in this world.”(1 John 4:17)
4-15-22
A few days after being carried away in the Spirit and seeing the river of God, Ruth Heflin was at a funeral with a friend. Before the funeral started the other woman excused herself and went to the restroom. After 15-20 minutes someone tapped Ruth on the shoulder and told her that her friend was on the floor in the back. Ruth immediately went to her and found she was dead. Sis. Ruth had some men carry the body into a small room so the funeral would not be disrupted. They put the deceased woman in a chair, because the room was not big enough to put the body on the floor. Naturally the woman’s head fell to the side. When Sis. Ruth put her hand on the dead woman’s neck to steady it, the same rhythm of the river started again inside her, “The eyes of the blind shall see; the ears of the deaf shall hear; the dead shall be raised to life again.” As the words went through her spirit a second time, her friend gasped, and life returned to her. By the time the paramedics got there her vital signs were normal.
This entire sequence of events concerning the rhythm of the river was quite amazing. Later it occurred to Sis. Ruth that she had never prayed for her friend to come back to life. She had never spoken a word. The miracle happened in the “flow of the river” from within Sis. Ruth. So as we walk in cadence with Jesus, and the rhythm of the river flows out of us, we most likely will experience the same result that Sis. Ruth experienced. As we mentioned, Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38 KJ – or- “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” NIV
Undoubtedly this river (which carries life into whomever or whatever it touches) will heal more than blindness, deafness, and death. It will heal whatever malady afflicts the person that it flows into.
4-24-22 at 11:15 PM
Before I went to bed tonight, the Lord directed me to re-read the above article. One of the last sentences said, “So as we walk in cadence with Jesus, and the rhythm of the river flows out of us, we most likely will experience the same results that Sis. Ruth experienced.” As I read this it occurred to me that the experience I had in church recently was a fulfillment of that sentence. Instead of resurrecting a dead body, Jesus had resurrected a dead eye.
On Sunday, 4-10-22, the minister said for anyone who was blind or having problems with their eyes to raise their hand. He told people around them to pray for them. There was a woman at the altar with her hand raised, but no one was praying for her. I walked up to her, said a few words commanding her right eye to see in the name of Jesus, and went back to my seat. (She had indicated her right eye was blind, but did not elaborate.)
On the following Sunday, 4-17-22, before the church service started, she came up to me crying with excitement and said she could now see light and colors out of the right eye, and she had watched a sunset with it. She explained that her vision loss was caused by an alley cat ripping her eye open when she was 18 months old. Her pupil was visibly disfigured. She was in tears at being able to see out of that eye for the first time in her memory. We thanked God together.
I was later praising the Lord during the worship service when it was suddenly quickened to me that she had said she could now see light. This means that she could NOT see light before. As an eye surgeon, I realized that her optic nerve had been dead; otherwise, she could have at least seen light with the injured eye. That realization overwhelmed me. It was like Lazarus that had been dead for 4 days and Jesus raised him from the dead, only this lady’s eye had been dead for decades and God had raised it from the dead. Recovery of sight to an eye with poor vision would have been wonderful; however, recovering of any sight at all, even simple light perception, from a totally dead eye was amazing beyond words.
I am so grateful to God for this miracle, and for allowing me to know He had done it. In Luke 4:18 Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind…” All He needs is a body walking in cadence with Him to flow through.
At the end of the church service on 4-24-22 I went to the altar area as part of the prayer team to pray for whoever needed prayer. A woman walked in front of me wearing a red blouse. I spoke to her saying what a pretty red blouse that was. She stopped, looked at me and said, “When you prayed for my eye…” I don’t know what else she said because I was so shocked that this was the lady that was blind, and Jesus had healed. I had wanted so much to talk to her and find out more details, but I did not know how to find her. I did not know her name and the lighting had been too low for me to get a good look at her on the previous Sundays. So God had her walk right in front of me. He prompted me to speak to her because of her pretty blouse. I know God did all of this for her, for me, and for His Kingdom. We could now talk and I could hear her complete story, which is as follows:
Her name is Erika Cristantielli. When she was 18 months old she was playing in the back yard. There was an “alley cat” out there with her. Her parents told her that she started to cry. They came to her not knowing what had happened. They comforted her, yet she would not stop crying. No matter what they did she continued to cry. They could not figure out why. At night she continued constantly crying so they took her to the emergency room at the hospital. After the doctor examined her he came out and told the parents that he was so sorry, but their baby would never see again out of her right eye. Her eye had been ripped open by the cat claw without anyone knowing it. Her father wept.
Of course, over the years she has seen many eye doctors who have confirmed over and over that she will never see out of this eye. Because the right eye could not see, it kept drifting out of alignment. For cosmetic reasons she had the eye surgically straightened several times, which had nothing whatsoever to do with attempting to restore her vision. Everyone knew that was impossible. At one time a doctor recommended that she have that blind, dead eye removed and a “glass eye” put in its place, but her mother decided not to do this.
She reports that when I put my hand on her right eye and prayed, she began seeing lights flashing all around and colors. (At the remembrance of it she was crying too hard to talk.) She said she was so overwhelmed. “It was beyond lights. It was the Glory of God shining everywhere.” She told her supervisor that she had to leave immediately instead of staying and serving on the usher team. She hurriedly went to her car in a state of shock. She covered her good left eye, and she could see that the color of her car was grey; she could see sunlight…SHE COULD SEE!!
A few years before this incident, she had been a hopeless, homeless methamphetamine addict who had been in jail. She says, “I walked with the devil.” The friends that knew her then said she walked around with her head down. She never smiled and never spoke. She lost everything in the world that she had owned except the clothes on her body and the shoes on her feet. She was living in a domestic violence shelter. In July 2020 she began going to Mercy Culture Church and learning about Jesus. He has now transformed her life in a wonderful way. From homelessness she is now living in a nice apartment on the penthouse level, and has a car to drive, which she had not had in 10 years. She now has a job as a concierge in a five star hotel. She goes to jails telling women her story about how Jesus delivered her from drugs, turned her life around, and did a miracle on her blind eye. There is hope in Him for all their needs.
She is now nearly 52 years old, so the eye that was dead for 50 years is now alive, seeing light and color and sunsets. In fact, she says she loves to sit on a bench while walking her dog and look at the white clouds, the green trees blowing in the breeze, the sidewalk, etc. Her favorite thing to do is to watch sunsets with her new right eye. As she was telling us these things, Erika stood up, covered her left eye and began walking with the sight of her right eye only, demonstrating her ability to see. She was crying as she told us the colors she was seeing around the church…red, yellow, pink… She could see her hand in front of her face, which she had never been able to see before.
Since Jesus did that miracle on her dead eye, she has been a totally different person. She tells everyone she sees about the miracle Jesus did, how wonderful He is, and that they need to know Him. He has set her on fire. She said, “I won’t stop talking about the goodness of God and shouting that He healed me. Miracles are real!” She is crying every few minutes over what He has done for her. She wants to shout His glory from the housetops, and sometimes does shout it from her apartment window. The fire in her can not be contained, nor will it ever be extinguished. She wants to spend the rest of her life telling people about her wonderful Savior/Healer and praying for their needs. She recently chased a blind man out the door of the church to pray for him. Someone stopped her in the hall and said they saw green light around her. They saw her in “gold armor and swinging a sword around” which was healing people.
A new eye; a new woman; a new day…Hallelujah!
5-2-22
Here are 4 new observations:
1) I realized that I had been walking in cadence saying, “The eyes of the blind NOW see”, and God had brought these words to pass on 4-10-2022 as I shared above. A person “shall have whatsoever he sayeth.” Mk.11:23
2) In tier one we are saying “I’m walking in step with You.” In tier two we are saying, “I’m walking in one with You.” Both indicate that we are doing the walking. However, in tier three we are saying, “It’s no longer I that lives. You’re living your life through me” The I that was doing the walking has been supplanted by the You. That is an interesting and prophetic sequence.
3) I had entitled each upward confession in walking a “tier”. Afterwards it dawned on me that most wedding cakes have “tiers”, again a prophetic picture, this time of Jesus and his bride which is us.
4) Acts 4: 30 was in my Bible reading yesterday. It is where Peter and John had been warned never again to speak in the name of Jesus. They went to a gathering of believers and prayed, asking God “to stretch forth Your hand to heal”. That is exactly what had happened when Erika was healed in church (mentioned above). Jesus stretched out His hand and healed her. He just needed a body to do it through.
